Albion Diko
2012, Digital, Full-body
The vigilante OC of balba-bunny and resident Barry Hatch waifu~ ♥ Loved her design and had a blast experimenting with mixed soft and hard cell-shading techniques.

Desiree & Griffin
2011, Digital, Full-body Chibi/SD pair
OCs Desiree and Griffin for Alasta, a quarrelsome pair who may or may not have occasional romantic tension and/or subplots.

Aubrey
2011, Digital, Full-body Chibi/SD
Aubrey was one of my favorite commissions of 2011. Somewhere in there, I leveled up on my shading and coloring skills. Her face is adorable and I can’t get over how perfect those freckles work with her overall color scheme. Aubrey was the OC of Arania—maximum classy.

Sabin
2011, Digital, Full-body Chibi/SD
Sabin was the OC of Arania—another classy character with a dark secret. He was a wonderful experiment with lighting and pale hair while keeping an overall dark color scheme.

Sabin
2011, Digital, Full-body
Another Sabin for Arania—his dark secret had to do with a sort of Jekyll and Hyde situation, where he had a pretty sweet demon form that took hold every once in a blue moon.

Donald
2011, Digital, Full-body Chibi/SD
Donald, the muscular OC of Arania. Drawing his tattoos and the design on his shirt were such a treat. I loved the fashion in Arania’s OCs and Donald was pretty high up there. Somewhere around his face, I think I learned a thing about coloring linework and shading.

Lukas
2011, Digital, Full-body Chibi/SD
Another lovely OC for Arania. Lukas was a piece that took a bit of guesswork, as the reference files didn’t have colors designated for his shirt and eyes, so I chose what seemed to work best with the rest of the colors. Luckily, it seems I made a good choice.

Lukas
2011, Digital, Full-body
A full-sized version of Lukas for Arania. The multitude of necklaces were better presentable in the full-sized version of this character art. While I liked the simplified version in the chibi piece, I really had fun with the metal textures on his necklaces in the larger version. This guy was into the occult and symbolism and I think that shows through most in his choice of jewelry.

Mrs. Reaver Benjamina
2011, Digital, Full-body
A commission of Lynai‘s favorite from Fable 3, the ever-so-relatable Benjamina. If there’s one thing I miss about Fable 3, it was the sheer craziness of the Reaver fandom (I was all too happy to sail on that ship!) Benjamina was the dev team’s answer to fandom obsession, and honestly, she’s probably the most relatable character in the Fable series. Yes, those are Reaver’s undergarments. She worked hard for those. The security around Reaver’s mansion is no joke.

London
2011, Digital, Full-body
London was an OC belonging to Lynai, with some neat antennae and a sweet corset. She always struck me as slightly DB-inspired, especially with that belt, but maybe I’m biased because I know Lynai loves DB. Her boots were a fun experiment in translating shiny latex/leather textures to cell-shading. Everything about London was nicely whimsical, yet somehow cotton-candy fierce.

Alasta & Keizyn
2011, Digital, Full-body Chibi/SD Pair
Another set for Alasta, this time of her namesake OC and said OC’s love interest, Keizyn, showing off his ability to manipulate water. These two were super cute to draw and brought me fond memories of 90’s romance anime, complete with the school uniforms, intense eyes, and elven ears.

Viviane & Uriel
2010, Traditional Lineart + Digital Colors, Full-body Pair
This was one of my first adventures in larger-scale commissions for people, experience courtesy of Viviane-Sea. Back in 2010, I was drawing on smaller canvasses, maybe with a maximum size of 900px wide. I had no idea what resolution was and I remember learning a lot about DPI when scanning the lineart for this to color. I made my first print and sent Viviane the original sketch, linework, and print by mail and I think it’s safe to say this was my first legit, full-scale commission. These two were a blast to draw and I still feel the final piece turned out fantastic. Seven years later (I write this in 2017,) this remains a favorite.

Ghastly Ghoulie
2008, Digital, Full-body
This was my first commission for anyone, way back in the Gaia Online days. I loved this person’s avatar and was thrilled when they asked me to draw her. I’m 99% sure that the character depicted has the same name as the person who commissioned me, but I have no idea if nearly ten years later, GG is still stomping around Gaia Online. It’s… certainly been some time. But it was still a fun experience. I used OpenCanvas back then and drew it on a Wacom Graphire tablet. If you remember either of those things, sorry if I made you feel old. For what it’s worth, I certainly did. One last note on this one that I always love to think about is how it was my first legitimate foray into cell-shading. Years later, I’m so pleased with how it turned out. The perspective wasn’t all that bad, either. It’s definitely a piece I look back at often and think, “Okay, I draw pretty alright sometimes.”
